The Outlands Project is a collection of digital essays by undergraduate RMIT Professional Communication students, completed as part of COMM2675 Professional Communication Studio, semester 2 2016 under the supervision of Lecturer Lucinda Strahan. The essays combine the traditions of literary journalism with digital media to engage the audience in sensory and immersive interactive reading. The stories were edited with the assistance of students from the Bowen Street Press, the publishing house of RMIT's Masters of Editing and Publishing program.
